Welcome to Rio Grande River Blues Preservation Society.
We feel most fortunate to have the Sierra County Arts Council (SCAC) to provide funding so we can have four Blues Bands this year!!!! With their most gracious assistance you will have an opportunity to hear and watch four excellent Blues Bands perform in our community, the first one will be Apr 17th ...keep an eye on 2010 gigs/info page for updates.
It is our intent and interest is to bring live blues music to Sierra County and surrounding areas by finding public and private venues for live blues acts. Our goal is to have monthly blues performances and an annual blues festival in Sierra County.
We will be asking for donations at the door at our public shows.For those who want a private blues show we will ask you to donate the funds to cover any costs incurred for the event. We cannot guarantee that any donations will be tax deductible.
We are a Not-for-Profit 501 (c)(3) organization in New Mexico, and, of course, are always looking for places and volunteers to help, and musicians willing, able, and eager to perform live blues music. With your help, support and patience we can make this happen. Please feel free to contact through this website.
To reiterate, it is our aim to have a 'live' public event once a month which may include house parties and casual jams with local and regional musicians.And, to sponsor an annual blues festival in Sierra County.
We will be donating a portion of our proceeds to the TorC school music programs, local music scholarships and to improve music appreciation in Sierra County.
